Tennessee Bun Company opened 1997. The high speed bun line bakes over 1,000 buns per minute and bakes round buns, hoagies, clusters, and double deckers with splits and toppings.
TBC uses the old fashion sponge and dough, allowing the 3,000 lb. doughs to rise, then the dough is mixed and divided into dough balls, for proofing and baking. Two metal detectors and the dipex make sure the quality is top notch.
The buns can be packaged bulk in pillow packs, or in bags, placed in bakers trays or corrugated, served fresh or frozen. The blast freezer cools the product to freezing quickly to guarantee freshness when thawed.
